Beverly G. Gorrell, 76, passed away peacefully after a 20-year battle with cancer on Nov. 22, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Gorrell was born in Norfolk to the late Raymond and Nannie Gwynn.
Mrs. Gorrell graduated from Toms River High School in New Jersey in 1958. She was a homemaker and an avid NASCAR fan who loved to travel and was very devoted to all her family. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed.
She was predeceased by her husband, Theodore P. Gorrell; and her sisters, Nancy Dalton and Sharon Holmes. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Brian “Wayne” Lemmond and his wife, Rhonda, of Virginia Beach; her sister, Elsie Gail Capps; and numerous nieces, nephews and family members.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
