Lydia Valencia Balbiran, 68, of Virginia Beach, passed away Nov. 20, 2016. She was born in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan, Philippines and was the daughter of the late Paulino Valencia and Romana Locquiao Valencia.
Lydia was a medical lab technician and a member of Iglesia Ni Cristo-Church of Christ in Virginia Beach.
Lydia is survived by her husband of 37 years, Diony Mara Balbiran; a daughter, Darlene Balbiran Wilson and husband Manuel of Virginia Beach; a son, Dave Valencia Balbiran and wife Annellie of Virginia Beach; 3 grandchildren, Roman Kai Wilson, Xaia Maeli Wilson and Tristan Rae Wilson, all of Virginia Beach, VA; and eight siblings, Connie Valencia, Bing Pareja and husband Amor, Alex Valencia and wife Hazel, Gino Valencia and wife Fe, Cristy Arellano and husband Eddie, Leo Valencia and wife Gina, Rose Perez and husband Fernando, and Paz Calaunan and husband Leonardo; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Friday, Nov. 25, and Saturday, Nov. 26, from 6-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at noon Sunday, Nov. 27, at the funeral home.
