Mary Elizabeth Clark, 89, former manager at High’s Ice Cream

Mary Elizabeth Clark, 89, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 14, 2016. She was born one of ten children to William and Minnie Smith.

Elizabeth was a manager at High’s Ice Cream. She was a founding member of Pembroke Manor UCC and served as part of the Ladies Fellowship for many years. Elizabeth also was one of the Pembroke Mall Walkers. She also enjoyed participating in a bowling league. She loved working in her yard, tending to her roses.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Major; son, David; siblings, Louise Smith, Doris Res, Evaleen Elliot, Euleus Smith, William Smith and Ruby Meeks.

Left to cherish her everlasting memories are her children, Faye Bradshaw (Seedie), Ricky Clark (Yasmin), Major Clark Jr. (Frances), and her daughter-in-law, Natalie Clark. Left to relish her memories are grandchildren, Michele, Melissa, Erica, Caroline, Sarah, Wayne; and seven great-grandchildren. Left to cherish her memories are her surviving siblings, Margie Lanning, Lucille McDonald and Thurman Smith.

A visitation will be on Wednesday, Nov. 16, from 6-8 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. A funeral service will be on Thursday, Nov. 17, at SonRise at Pembroke Manor CC, 600 Independence Blvd., Virginia Beach. Condolences may be left at www.woodlawngroup.com.
