Interested in pursuing a cybersecurity career? Tidewater Community College is offering a three-year, $100,000 scholarship for one student with plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in computer science with an emphasis in information assurance at Norfolk State University.
This CyberCorps Scholarship for Service program, which is funded by the National Science Foundation, will provide:
- $22,500 living expense stipend
- Tuition and fees for the last three years of study for a bachelor’s degree
- Book allowance
- Health insurance allowance
- Fees to cover conferences and activities
- Travel allowance
After graduating from NSU, the student is required to give service to a branch of government for three years.
TCC students earning a career studies certificate in cyber security or studying information systems technology and on track to graduate in May 2017 are encouraged to apply.
Tidewater Community College was recently named a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense by the United States National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security, making it one of 10 institutions nationwide to receive funding for the CAE2Y to 4Y scholarship initiative.
