Michael John “Mike” O’Toole, 35, of Virginia Beach, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, after a year and a half battle with brain cancer.
Mike was born on Jan. 16, 1981, in Miami grew up in San Diego and made Virginia Beach his home in 2005. Mike married his other half and best friend, Rozalyn O’Toole, on Sept. 12, 2009. He took pride in his career in fire & life safety, loved music, water sports, and most of all, being a husband and father. Mike’s hysterical sense of humor and vibrant personality made him loved by all who were blessed to be in his presence.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas O’Toole; mother, Joan Barrett; and father-in-law, Roger Carraway. Left to cherish his memory are: his devoted and loving wife, Rozalyn; son and best buddy, Jameson; sister, Susan Klemmer; brother, Don Ransom; and mother-in-law, Nemie Carraway. Mike also leaves behind friends across the country.

The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Liberty at Greenbrier, 1801 Sara Drive, Chesapeake, Va. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11 a.m. In keeping with the celebratory theme, the family asks that guests do not wear black. Mike was a bright light in all of our lives.
