Veterans Day closings in Virginia Beach and Norfolk is your source for free local news and information in Virginia Beach

Municipal offices in Virginia Beach and Norfolk are closed Friday in honor of Veterans Day.

Those include Virginia Beach and Norfolk public schools, courthouses, recreation centers and utilities departments.  The Virginia Beach Landfill will also be closed Friday, although the SPSA Norfolk Transfer Station will be open from 7 a.m. to noon.

Also closed are the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles and the United States Postal Service.

All departments will reopen Monday.

The Virginia Beach Aquarium, Virginia Beach Animal Control, the Sandler Center and the joint-use library at the Tidewater Community college will remain open Friday.
