Does Virginia Beach need to update its tourism brand for the Airbnb era?

That will be the focus of a luncheon and presentation set for Nov. 2 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. The public is invited to attend as Brad Van Dommelen, director of the Virginia Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau, shares insights about current tourism trends in Virginia Beach and his vision for the future of the CVB.

His talk will be followed by a panel discussion about destination branding. Dommelen will be joined on the panel by Rita McClenny, president and CEO of the Virginia Tourism Corp.; Dave Lorenz, vice president of Travel Michigan; and Bob Lander, former president and CEO of the Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The program will run from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, 1000 19th St.

The event is open to the public, but pre-registration is required by 5 p.m. on Oct. 28.
