Reginald L. Kilgore, 91, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sept. 26, 2016. He was born Aug. 30, 1925 in Atoka, Okla., and had lived in Virginia Beach for more than 50 years.
He was predeceased by his parents Zeak and Ina Sullivan Kilgore and his loving wife Melba L. Kilgore.
Reg served his country in the U.S. Navy two different times: on active duty during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam conflict, for a total of 25 years, and then as a civilian program analyst for 20 years.
He was a dedicated member of the Virginia Beach Masonic Lodge No. 274 since 1971. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing with his buddies and spending time with family at his home away from home FihukiPac in Blackstone, Va.
Reg is survived by his son, Gary and his wife, Joanne; his daughter, Linda Hennessy and her husband, Mike; his grandchildren, Aaron Liles and his wife, Lisa, Danielle Joy and her husband, Rob, and Kendell Liles; his stepgrandchildren, Kristine Hennessy, Colleen Wilkins and her husband, Chad, Michael Hennessy and his wife, Alyson, and Eileen Hennessy; his great-grandchildren, Evan, Zeek, Ben, Sloane, Brooke, Bailey, Finn, and Kyla; his brothers, Jack and his wife, Frances, Bill and his wife, Armelda, and Earl and his wife, Neva; and his sister, Wanda Jefferson and her husband, George.
The memorial service will be held on Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel.
