First high school, now college.

Hurricane Matthew may miss Virginia Beach, but the storm continues to wreak havoc on local football games.

Old Dominion University has moved its sellout game against the University of Massachusetts from Saturday Oct. 8 to Friday Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. at Foreman Field at SB Ballard Stadium, a release said.

General admission tickets for the North end zone and student tickets are available through the ODU ticket office. Ticket information is available here.

Parking lots for tailgaters will open at 5:30 p.m.; if their regular spot is flooded, tailgaters may relocate to the Monarch Village lot on Hampton Boulevard, the Yellow Parking Garage at 43rd and Elkhorn, or one of the garages next to the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

The game will be broadcast on the ODU Sports Radio Network and televised on CUSA-TV.

ODU’s scheduling change comes on the heels of an earlier announcement by Virginia Beach City Public Schools that varsity high school games will be played Thursday, instead of this weekend, due to inclement weather expected from the storm.

Separately, the Friday men’s soccer game against Florida Atlantic University has been postponed, with no word yet on a makeup date.
