VIRGINIA BEACH – Linda Gail Fanshaw, 71, passed away on Oct. 1, 2016, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Tampa, Fla. and lived in the Tidewater area for most of her life.
She worked in the family business for over 38 years until her retirement in 2014. Linda was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Virginia Beach. She was affectionately known as “Mammaw” to her grandkids, whom she loved dearly. She was a loving wife, mother, mammaw, sister, aunt and friend who will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her husband of more than 50 years, Walton B. Fanshaw Jr.; three sons, Jerry L. Fanshaw and his wife, Anita of St. Petersburg, Fla., James W. Fanshaw and his wife, Candy of Chesapeake, Va., and Walton L. Fanshaw and his wife, Amber of Virginia Beach; her sister, Cherie Robinette of Tampa, Fla.; four grandsons, James Jr, Robert, Jonathan, and Wyatt; one granddaughter, Leila; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and good friends.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Tanya and Mary, for their tender loving care they gave mom during her illness.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016 at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road Chapel. A funeral service will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 1969 Woodside Lane in Virginia Beach at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016. Burial will follow in Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery.
