Police identify Norfolk shooting victim

4:20 p.m. update:

Police have identified the 33-year-old man who was shot to death in Norfolk on Wednesday morning.

Around 4:20 a.m., police reported to the intersection of West 29th Street and Gosnold Avenue, where they found Donta M. Lamb, of the 500 block of Grantham Road, shot multiple times. Lamb was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he died shortly after arriving, according to a Norfolk Police Department news release.

Police are looking for Lamb’s shooter. Anyone with information should call the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.

9:00 a.m. update:

Police are looking for a person accused of shooting a man to death in Norfolk on Wednesday morning.

Around 4:20 a.m., police found a man shot multiple times near the intersection of West 29th Street and Gosnold Avenue. The victim, a 33-year-old, was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he died shortly after arriving, according to a Norfolk Police Department news release.

Police will release the man’s name after his family is notified. Anyone with information about the incident should call the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
