ODU field hockey moves up to No. 14 in NFHCA poll

The Old Dominion field hockey team (5-3, 1-1 Big East) moved up three spots to No. 14 this week in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Coaches Poll after picking up a 5-0 win over Big East foe Georgetown University last Friday.

Undefeated University of Connecticut (9-0) grabbed the top spot for the first time this season, while the University of North Carolina (8-2), Duke (8-1), Syracuse (8-1) and Penn State (9-1) rounded out the top five, respectively.

The Lady Monarchs return home this Friday, Sept. 30, to take on Big East opponent Liberty at 5 p.m. On Sunday, ODU treks to Charlottesville to battle 12th-ranked Virginia at 1 p.m.
