For a week starting Monday, Sept. 12, people from all faiths from around Virginia are gathering under a big red and green tent to share one message: love heals.

On Tuesday, more than 20 people gathered to eat, sing and share their stories at Norfolk’s Park Place Ministry, 500 W. 34th St. Speakers and guests came from a number of churches, from Dolphin, Va. to Fairfax, Va. Some came from colleges such as Norfolk’s Virginia Wesleyan, and some were locals from New Life Providence in Ghent.

On Tuesday, an anonymous donor was so moved by the event that he decided to pick up the dinner tab for the group. Attendees took bites of craft sausages from Sausage Fest Grill in Virginia Beach in between “hallelujahs” and song.
