Lynda “Pinki” Denton, 70, passed away on Sept. 2, 2016, in her home.

Born in Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late R.F. Tippie and Marjorie Webb.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard M. Tippie; and life-long friends, Mitzi Hadley and Shirley Pritchard.

Pinki was a bus driver for the City of Norfolk for many years. Well known for her outspoken nature, she was a matriarch of her community and never met a stranger. She quickly befriended everyone she met and will be missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory: her sisters, Jimmy Monroe and Vicki Keller; niece, Rene Evans and niece-in-law, Lisa; as well as three nieces and two nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caretakers, Marietta, Monique and Heather.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Norfolk SPCA.
