Theresa Leo Merritt, 88, passed away on Aug. 26, 2016, in her home.

Born in Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Giacinto and Rose Leo. She was a loving and devoted wife to her husband of 46 years, Jack Merritt, before he passed away in 2001. She spent many years moving with him all around the world as a Navy wife. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Left to cherish her memory: her son, John Merritt; daughter, Sandra Hudson; grandchildren, James Merritt (Bekha), Rose Estes (Webb), Meredith Hageman (Eric), and Laura Forstedt (Josh); great-grandchildren, Tristan, Alex and Maddie Hageman and Hope Estes; a great-grandchild Forstedt on the way; sister, Dolly Fedeli; brother, John Leo; as well as a large extended family.

The family received friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. The funeral Mass was celebrated at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, at St. Pius X Church. Entombment followed in St.┬áMary’s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or Leukemia Foundation.
