Michael Gale Morris, 55, MGM Pools owner who loved children

Michael Gale Morris, 55, passed away on Friday, Aug. 19, 2016. He was born in Newport News and was a resident of Virginia Beach. Michael was a graduate of Cox High School and was the owner of MGM Pools for many years.

Mike loved children and they flocked to him like magnets. He would play with them and goof off with them. They loved him dearly. Mike loved nature, from the mountains to the seashore. He loved animals and always had dogs and or cats. He also loved wild animals. He would feed the birds, sometimes a red fox and even raccoons. He was a kind and gentle soul, full of compassion and love.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael G. Morris Sr. Survivors include his longtime beloved companion Legare Snyder; his mother, Barbara Ann Morris; three sisters, Kathleen Morris Albert and her husband Steve, Maureen Morris Thompson and her husband Harvey, and Darleen Morris Wills and her husband Carroll; two brothers, Kevin Morris and his wife Laurie and Casey Morris; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016 at Church of the Holy Family Catholic Church, 1279 N. Great Neck Rd., Virginia Beach.
