Dione Noel Boecker died unexpectedly on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016 in Virginia Beach at the age of 47.

Dione is survived by her loving parents, Barbara and Richard O’Leary and Rear Admiral Donald and Gay Boecker; her beautiful daughter, Morgan Noel Boecker; her sisters, Michele Heckman, Lauren O’Leary, Leslie Quisenberry, Stephanie Prettyman, Megan Mayer, Danielle Primack and Virginia Bugg; her brother, Scott Robbins; brothers-in-law, Greg Heckman, Don Mayer, Woody Prettyman and Russell Primack; and 15 nephews and nieces.

Dione was born on April 8, 1969 in Patuxent River, Md. to Donald and Barbara Boecker. Dione’s infectious personality contributed to her successful advertising sales career in Hampton Roads. Dione also derived enormous personal satisfaction and fulfillment through her community volunteer work, organizing youth and adult soccer leagues and events, and from coaching soccer teams and their young players, especially her precious daughter, Morgan.

She thoroughly loved her sweet dog Maggie and their daily walks along the bay.

The people, the sun and surf, and the spirit of Chix Beach occupied a special place for Dione, and she loved the community with all of her heart. Dione’s smile, enthusiasm, and vivacious nature lit the sky above her and shed a glowing light upon everyone with whom she came to know. Dione’s love for family and friends made her a bright and sparkling star in all of our lives and the light she shed on all of us that will never be extinguished.

A viewing is scheduled from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24 at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 2002 Laskin Rd., Virginia Beach, and the Mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25 at Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
