Catherine Corbett Thrasher, 90, of Harbor’s Edge, died Aug. 3, 2016.

She was born Sept. 22, 1925, in Wilson, N.C. She was the daughter of the late Wiley Barnes Corbett and Lela Quinn Corbett and the widow of Samuel Howard Thrasher Jr.

Mrs. Thrasher graduated from the University of North Carolina Women’s College. She also was a member of Great Bridge United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, John Jeffrey Thrasher and Samuel Howard Thrasher III.

She is survived by her brother, Wiley B. Corbett; her daughter, Ann Thrasher Thiel; her son, David Fred Thrasher; her grandchildren, Catherine Thiel Lee, John Thrasher Thiel, Tiffany Thrasher Ray, Samuel Howard Thrasher IV, Dorothy Thrasher and Christopher Thrasher; and her nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sons John Jeffrey Thrasher and Samuel Howard Thrasher, III.

Mrs. Thrasher’s family would like to express their profound gratitude to the entire staff at Harbor’s Edge for their wonderful loving care throughout her eight years as a resident of the facility’s Health Care floor.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at Harbor’s Edge.
