Roger Lee Spoor, 57, of Norfolk, Va., was received in heaven on July 13, 2016, while surrounded by friends and family.
He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1984, and was the proprietor of Franklee Irrigation and Landscaping for the last 29 years.
Roger was a member of the Tidewater Radio Control Club for 16 years, and his passion was constructing and flying model WWII airplanes with his TRC “band of brothers.”
Roger was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend and mentor to many and will be deeply missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Dunn of Superior, Wis.
He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of 35 years, Jill Holly Spoor; daughters, Samantha Danielle Spoor and Jennifer Nicole Batte (Bobby); grandchildren, Ava Rayn Baker and Lincoln Daniel Quesenberry; father, Kennith Joseph Spoor; sister, Julie Scroggins; brothers, Todd Spoor, John Wertz and Keith Wertz; brothers-in-law, Joel Fabian, John Fabian and Joe D’ABrosca; sister-in-law, Jody Fabian; and many loving cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Saint John Lutheran Church, 8918 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk, Va., immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at the VFW Post 4809, 5728 Bartee St., Norfolk, Va.
