Norfolk’s Nauticus Foundation is calling all problem-solvers and thrill-seekers.

Beginning Friday, visitors can board the Battleship Wisconsin at 1 Waterside Drive and  solve puzzles and gather clues to make an escape within 60 minutes. The Escape Ship exhibit features opportunities for groups of up to eight who will work together by solving puzzles and challenges in the Captain’s cabin to make an escape.

Foundation staff members are  currently testing the interactive exhibit, and are reporting  the course to be tough, according to Beth Bilderback, public relations specialist for Nauticus.

The course has a WWII theme and is centered on finding the captain, Bilderback said. The escape is designed for ages 14 and up, with tickets priced at $20 a person. Tickets can only be purchased online. After Friday’s debut, the event will run from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday through Sunday during the summer. However, there is a possibility of it continuing through fall if another section of the ship can be utilized, Bilderback said.
