Katsumi O. Gablinske, 92, affectionately known as ‘Mickey,’ passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at her home surrounded by family.

She was born in Matsuyama City, Japan. Mickey met her husband, Oscar, during World War II, and they married in Japan July 6, 1959. The next duty station brought them to Virginia Beach, where they decided to stay and made it their home.

She was preceded in death by her husband and leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughters, Naomi Fasulo (Peter) and Lisa Willis (Thomas); granddaughters, Alexandrea, Atlanta and Leandra Sumuel; great-grandson, Jehlen Sumuel; best friend, Sechiko Meissel, and the Meissel family; and a host of family and friends.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 2, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Laskin Road Chapel. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
