Michael B. ‘Mike’ Ferguson, 77, served as an Episcopal priest for 17 years

The Rev. Michael B. ‘Mike’ Ferguson, 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 11, 2016. He was the son of the late Harold and Vivienne Ferguson.

He retired as a captain after 30 years’ Naval Service. After retirement, he followed his call and served as an Episcopal priest for 17 years. He was serving as the co-pastor at the Church of the Holy Apostles Episcopal and Roman Catholic Church in Virginia Beach.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn; children and their families, Michael and Monica Ferguson, and their children, Leslie and Kathy Ferguson, and Lanai Ferguson and Aaron Bea; three grandchildren, Evan Ferguson, Emily Ferguson and Ethan Ferguson; and countless cousins and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 17, at Galilee Episcopal Church, 3928 Pacific Ave., Virginia Beach, with the Rt. Rev. Holly Hollerith presiding. Inurnment with military honors will follow at a later date in St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, Appomattox.
