Dorothy Ann ‘Dot’ Baynard, 84, former school nurse at Woodstock Elementary

Dorothy Ann ‘Dot’ Baynard, 84, received her greatest Mother’s Day gift when she went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 8, 2016. She was born in Maryland to the late Albert and Mary Bradley.

Dot had worked as a school nurse at Woodstock Elementary; taught girls recreation league basketball; worked at Miller’s Department Store; and later in Dot’s life, she worked with her daughter, JoAnn, at Farm Fresh.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Baynard; and brother, Albert Bradley.

Dot is survived by two daughters, Lana Herrington, and her husband, Bradford, and JoAnn Grass, and her husband, Randall; and two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Robby Herrington.

The family would like to say thank you to all of mom’s caregivers.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, May 13, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach. A  celebration of life service will be held at noon. Burial will follow in Colonial Grove Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. A reception will be held at the funeral home after burial.
