Frank I. Sermonia, 84, enjoyed fishing, gardening and dancing

Frank I. Sermonia, 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. Frank was born in Tayug, Pangasinan, Philippines, on April 2, 1932.

He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and the Fleet Reserve Branch 99. Frank received his college education from Araneta University. A sous chef for the U.S. Navy, he retired after 20 years of loyal service. Frank enjoyed fishing, gardening and dancing with his wife, Nelly.

Frank was preceded in death by his father, Braulio Sermonia; mother, Isidora I. Sermonia; brother, Ninoy; and sister, Luz.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Nelly; daughter, Nelfaluz Frabutt; sons, Noel, Fred, Arnel and Allen; and grandchildren, Sperling Jae Frabutt, Zayne Anthony, Aubrey Noel and Felix Remke Sermonia.

A visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 17, at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 18, at the funeral home with interment in the Memorial Gardens following the service. The family will receive friends after the interment for a reception at the funeral home.
