Anthony Earl Jones, 77, went home to be with the Lord December 24, 2015. He was born to the late Leo and Ollie Henry Jones in Selma, NC.

He served his country in the Virginia National Guard and retired from the Naval Aviation Depot as a General Foreman. He enjoyed gardening and being a general handyman, fixing things that weren’t even broken; but his biggest enjoyment was being Pawpaw and teaching Sunday school at Gateway Free Will Baptist Church where he was a member since 1966.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Margaret; his children, Tony and Stephen Jones, and Jennifer Speelman and her husband Tim; grandchildren, Jason and Brian Jones, Stephanie Crow and her husband Dan, Daniel, Victoria, Olivia, Kimberly, and Michael Speelman; and great-grandchildren, Christopher and Alex Crow.

A service to celebrate his life was held December 30 at Gateway Free Will Baptist Church with burial following in Rosewood Memorial Park. Please visit www.AltmeyerFH.com to offer a note of condolence to the family.
